Dance Gavin Dance: Afterburner

Legends of the post-hardcore scene, Dance Gavin Dance, recently released their ninth full length studio album through Rise Records. Prior to the full release of the album the band released two singles not featured on the album, Head Hunter and Blood Wolf, in March and October of 2019. The band considers this album to be a musical progression with influences from the funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore genres, just to name a few. The album artwork was created by Swedish illustrator and artist Mattias Adolfsson, who has created the artwork for every DGD since their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain. The album cover depicts a robot minotaur figure named Gavin Afterburner, in the center with creatures seemingly cowering around the figure whilst the environment around them is engulfed in flames. Wage War: New album and new genre?

Metalcore band Wage War took over the hardcore scene with their first full-length album Blueprints. Since then they've toured with several bands in the hardcore scene and headlined tours of their own. But the band appear to be back in the studio making their fourth full length. On April 8th, 2020, WW tweeted a video with an 18 second clip of a new song with the caption "Making the most of quarentine #ww4" While we don't have any new updates confirming a release date its expected to drop sometime in 2020. Many fans are worried though that it won't be as heavy as their first or second album. After their most recent release, Pressure, fans are worried about the future of their favorite metalcore band. The Ghost Inside recently went to social media to announce a self-titled new album as well as a new single "Aftermath" "At long last we want to share the first single from our next album. Falling In Reverse: Derek Jones dead at 35

Falling In Reverse guitarist Derek Jones dead at 35 years old. Ronnie Radke confirmed the news with a post on Instagram. Cause of death is currently unknown. “I’ll never forget when you picked me up from jail in your old tour van to start Falling In Reverse. Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever,” Frontman Ronnie Radke posted to his social media. “Rest In peace Derek Jones, My heart is broken.” Late in 2019, Jones lost his fiance, Christina Cetta, to her battle with Cancer. No details are known at this time. Remember the Jones family in your thoughts and prayers.

A Day to Remember: "You’re Welcome"

A Day To Remember's highly anticipated seventh album, "You're Welcome" was announced in August 2019, was expected to be released on November 15th, 2019 on their new label, Fueled by Ramen. But just a week before it dropped the band announced the album would be delayed until 2020. The band has named the album, You’re Welcome, with the help of a fan and McKinnon elaborated to Kerrang on why the album was named that: “Well, I needed a hoodie for a show. It was our first show back from this massive time that we took off. August Burns Red: Delivering the sentence at #1

Two-time Grammy nominated metalcore band August Burns Red recently released their latest album Guardians on Fearless Records. The album went straight to the top at #1 on the Billboard top 100 Hard Music chart, the Rock Albums chart, and the Vinyl Albums chart. They also claimed #3 on Top Current Album and #4 on Digital Album sales. The band was recently scheduled to go on tour with Killswitch Engage which had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to be rescheduled at a later date. ABR is also scheduled to play some festivals later this year in Budapest, Ysselsetyn, and Birmingham, AL. No announcements have been made regarding those festival dates. Recently the band found themselves appearing on one of the collectible covers of the Revolver Magazine spring 2020 issue. Parkway Drive back in studio

Parkway Drive are back in the studio to record a new album earlier than expected. The band was recently on themusic's Green Room Podcast the band explained due to recently canceling their Aussie and Europe tour dates they decided to fast track a new album and jump back in the studio. Parkway Drive front man Winston McCall stated they are "very, very early" in the album process. “This process was gonna start next year but we were like, 'Well, if gigs end up getting shifted around this year… we’re just gonna free up that space, so start writing now.' McCall stated, he also stated the process would take time, and for fans not to get too excited. McCall also stated that the album process was going to be further down the line, but due to recent events they're having bad meetings every other week. mewithoutYou "Nature had another plan"

On October 20th, 2019, band "mewithoutYou" announced that they would be disbanding in the year 2020 after making posts on social media. the post read,   "To whom it may concern, We have decided on next year (2020) as our last year as an active band. We nevertheless have many plans in the interim, the details of which are forthcoming. Thank you, mewithoutYou"   Since then they have announced a 14 year anniversary tour for their third studio album Brother, Sister to take place in May and June of 2020 with special guests Slow Mass and Dominic Angelella on select dates.  On April 14th, 2020, the band posted an update regarding the anniversary tour.
