Wage War: New album and new genre?

Metalcore band Wage War took over the hardcore scene with their first full-length album Blueprints. Since then they've toured with several bands in the hardcore scene and headlined tours of their own. But the band appear to be back in the studio making their fourth full length. On April 8th, 2020, WW tweeted a video with an 18 second clip of a new song with the caption "Making the most of quarentine #ww4"

While we don't have any new updates confirming a release date its expected to drop sometime in 2020. Many fans are worried though that it won't be as heavy as their first or second album.

After their most recent release, Pressure, fans are worried about the future of their favorite metalcore band. Vocalist and frontman Briton Bond stated that when it comes to Wage War, he wants to appeal to more than the typical metalcore fans and that he wanted to tour with more mainstream bands and appeal to a less heavy crowd. Briton also stated he's okay with the idea of Wage War becoming a gateway band for younger fans to start getting to the hardcore scene and has said that's part of the bands plan in 2020.

More information regarding a new album will be released as the band releases it.

Dance Gavin Dance: Afterburner

Legends of the post-hardcore scene, Dance Gavin Dance, recently released their ninth full length studio album through Rise Records. Prior to the full release of the album the band released two singles not featured on the album, Head Hunter and Blood Wolf, in March and October of 2019. The band considers this album to be a musical progression with influences from the funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore genres, just to name a few. The album artwork was created by Swedish illustrator and artist Mattias Adolfsson, who has created the artwork for every DGD since their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain. The album cover depicts a robot minotaur figure named Gavin Afterburner, in the center with creatures seemingly cowering around the figure whilst the environment around them is engulfed in flames. In an interview with Rock Sound, the band expressed that they had received the artwork prior to writing sessions so they could create a more cohesive album, similar to their p...
