The return of A Plea for Purging?

Are we about to experience the full return of A Plea for Purging? In 2012 the band played their last show ever in Nashville, TN, following their farewell tour until they reunited for one night only at Facedown Fest in 2017. Recently vocalist Andy Atkins went to social media making a post with the caption that says "Always and forever dem boys. Starting a new band. Stay tuned."

In February of 2020, a new Instagram page emerged (@pleajams) only posting two pictures. One of vocalist Andy on stage, and the other of a pedal board that looks to be in a studio setting.

Andy has also posted on social media in the past looking for a space to record music. There is no confirmation yet stating that A Plea for Purging is coming back under the name Plea, though it is possible. But new music is definitely confirmed.

Stay tuned for more news and as always thanks for reading!

Dance Gavin Dance: Afterburner

Legends of the post-hardcore scene, Dance Gavin Dance, recently released their ninth full length studio album through Rise Records. Prior to the full release of the album the band released two singles not featured on the album, Head Hunter and Blood Wolf, in March and October of 2019. The band considers this album to be a musical progression with influences from the funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore genres, just to name a few. The album artwork was created by Swedish illustrator and artist Mattias Adolfsson, who has created the artwork for every DGD since their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain. The album cover depicts a robot minotaur figure named Gavin Afterburner, in the center with creatures seemingly cowering around the figure whilst the environment around them is engulfed in flames. In an interview with Rock Sound, the band expressed that they had received the artwork prior to writing sessions so they could create a more cohesive album, similar to their p...
