Underøath: Full album breakdown

Recently, metalcore legends Underoath, announced that they were going to be going to twitch starting on May 5th and going until June 3rd, once a week, to dive more in depth on their music and listen to their album that week with them. They're using this opportunity as a Q&A session as well as a chance to chat with the guys and hear their stories as they recorded these albums.

"It’s going down. Every week, a different Underoath album full-listen with us (and some special guests, TBA) on our Twitch channel. Come hang out, listen loud, ask questions, and watch us talk mostly about all the good food we ate while recording these things. twitch.tv/underoathband"

On May 6th their jumping headfirst to their first album in 8 years as well as their first album on their new label Fearless Records, Erase Me.

On May 13th the band will be talking about their first album without original drummer Aaron Gillespie and former Norma Jean drummer Daniel Davidson.

On May 20th they'll be talking about their most undertated and least talked about album, in my opinion, Lost In the Sound of Separation.

On May 27th the band will talk about an album that defined the metalcore scene in 2006 and was its own genre at the time, Define the Great Line

Then on June 3rd they will be closing the series with their debut album on Solid State Records, the album that set them apart from the scene altogether and was a gateway to a different sound of metalcore, the one album that every former scene kid knows just by the album cover, They're Only Chasing Safety

The return of A Plea for Purging?

Are we about to experience the full return of A Plea for Purging? In 2012 the band played their last show ever in Nashville, TN, following their farewell tour until they reunited for one night only at Facedown Fest in 2017. Recently vocalist Andy Atkins went to social media making a post with the caption that says "Always and forever dem boys. Starting a new band. Stay tuned." In February of 2020, a new Instagram page emerged (@pleajams) only posting two pictures. One of vocalist Andy on stage, and the other of a pedal board that looks to be in a studio setting. Andy has also posted on social media in the past looking for a space to record music. There is no confirmation yet stating that A Plea for Purging is coming back under the name Plea, though it is possible. But new music is definitely confirmed. Stay tuned for more news and as always thanks for reading!
