Parkway Drive back in studio

Parkway Drive are back in the studio to record a new album earlier than expected. The band was recently on themusic's Green Room Podcast the band explained due to recently canceling their Aussie and Europe tour dates they decided to fast track a new album and jump back in the studio.

Parkway Drive front man Winston McCall stated they are "very, very early" in the album process.
“This process was gonna start next year but we were like, 'Well, if gigs end up getting shifted around this year… we’re just gonna free up that space, so start writing now.'
McCall stated, he also stated the process would take time, and for fans not to get too excited.
McCall also stated that the album process was going to be further down the line, but due to recent events they're having bad meetings every other week.
McCall went on to say “It could be done in a month… but I really doubt it, just because I know that when we write it takes us a long time to get to the point where we sit on something where we like writing something and coming back to it six months later and seeing if it still holds water. And if it doesn’t hold water, it’s scrapped and we rewrite. We’ve definitely started. There’s riffs and bits of songs and concepts. We’re definitely into it, you just never know.”

No recent updates have been made by the band regarding future plans for a tour or an album. Updates will be made as they're released.

Prior to the full release of the album the band released two singles not featured on the album, Head Hunter and Blood Wolf, in March and October of 2019. The band considers this album to be a musical progression with influences from the funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore genres, just to name a few. The album artwork was created by Swedish illustrator and artist Mattias Adolfsson, who has created the artwork for every DGD since their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain. The album cover depicts a robot minotaur figure named Gavin Afterburner, in the center with creatures seemingly cowering around the figure whilst the environment around them is engulfed in flames. In an interview with Rock Sound, the band expressed that they had received the artwork prior to writing sessions so they could create a more cohesive album, similar to their p...
