August Burns Red: Delivering the sentence at #1

Two-time Grammy nominated metalcore band August Burns Red recently released their latest album Guardians on Fearless Records. The album went straight to the top at #1 on the Billboard top 100 Hard Music chart, the Rock Albums chart, and the Vinyl Albums chart. They also claimed #3 on Top Current Album and #4 on Digital Album sales.
The band was recently scheduled to go on tour with Killswitch Engage which had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and to be rescheduled at a later date. ABR is also scheduled to play some festivals later this year in Budapest, Ysselsetyn, and Birmingham, AL. No announcements have been made regarding those festival dates.

Recently the band found themselves appearing on one of the collectible covers of the Revolver Magazine spring 2020 issue. Inside the magazine vocalist Jake Luhrs digs deep on his past struggles, the importance of mental health, his nonprofit Heartsupport, and more. That issue can be found on shop.revolvermag.com

The return of A Plea for Purging?

Are we about to experience the full return of A Plea for Purging? In 2012 the band played their last show ever in Nashville, TN, following their farewell tour until they reunited for one night only at Facedown Fest in 2017. Recently vocalist Andy Atkins went to social media making a post with the caption that says "Always and forever dem boys. Starting a new band. Stay tuned." In February of 2020, a new Instagram page emerged (@pleajams) only posting two pictures. One of vocalist Andy on stage, and the other of a pedal board that looks to be in a studio setting. Andy has also posted on social media in the past looking for a space to record music. There is no confirmation yet stating that A Plea for Purging is coming back under the name Plea, though it is possible. But new music is definitely confirmed. Stay tuned for more news and as always thanks for reading!

Though nothing has been confirmed or denied, one can only hope that I, The Breather will be returning to the scene. Once more info is released regarding Breather and what the message means it will be posted here. Keep your eyes peeled!

Dance Gavin Dance: Afterburner

Legends of the post-hardcore scene, Dance Gavin Dance, recently released their ninth full length studio album through Rise Records. Prior to the full release of the album the band released two singles not featured on the album, Head Hunter and Blood Wolf, in March and October of 2019. The band considers this album to be a musical progression with influences from the funk, Latin, rap, and metalcore genres, just to name a few. The album artwork was created by Swedish illustrator and artist Mattias Adolfsson, who has created the artwork for every DGD since their debut album, Downtown Battle Mountain. The album cover depicts a robot minotaur figure named Gavin Afterburner, in the center with creatures seemingly cowering around the figure whilst the environment around them is engulfed in flames. In an interview with Rock Sound, the band expressed that they had received the artwork prior to writing sessions so they could create a more cohesive album, similar to their p...
